Brief info
A graduate of Spring Arbor University with a major in social sciences, Laurie is a certified teacher and previously worked as a multi-subject teacher in Northern Michigan. She and her family lived in Mexico for almost 10 years and working cross-culturally has helped her to see the diversity of people and the wide difference in learning styles. As she puts together educational programming for the museum, she hopes that children will see that learning is fun, hands-on, and creative. Laurie enjoys spending time with family and friends in her free time, drinking coffee, riding bikes, and kayaking.
